The Alabama senate is set to vote on a new abortion ban, that would be the strictest in the nation. The only reason it hasn't already happened is because of the chaos created by the removal of an exception amendment that allows abortion in the case of rape and incest. This exemption was removed without a roll call vote, and it's scary to think a a couple dozen men can remove thousands of women's rights without so much as due process.
Again, this calls us back to the Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision that protects our rights to an abortion. The ultimate goal of certain Alabama senate members is to get rid of it. I think it's kind of scary honestly that if I ever needed to get an abortion, I may not be able to get a safe and legal one.
Emma Burkey: I literally will never understand why people who have never been pregnant or have been forced to make the decision of an abortion because of many different reasons are making these choices for others. It is not their job to regulate other people's bodies and it shouldn't be.
