Summary:
This article basically informs us about a 54 year old woman named Tererai Trent. She is a Zimbabwean scholar who will be honored with a life size statue in New York alongside the other 9 women who have been called the most inspiring women in the world. Tererai was kept out of school most of her childhood because of poverty and because she was a female but she soon taught herself how to read and write.Her inspiring story caught Oprah Winfrey's attention and she soon gave Trent $1.5 million donation to rebuild her elementary school in Zimbabwean in partnership with Save the Children 2011.
Analysis:
It makes me proud to hear and know that more and more women are getting recognized for the amazing things they've done or accomplished. Its crazy too see how much women have achieved since the past. From not being able to vote to all of the changes now it's insane. This just comes to show we have gotten better as a society to give women equal opportunities and rights.
I love hearing these stories because it gives me hope about the future of our world. I’m getting mega flashbacks to Ms. Kmetz showing us TedTalks.
