Ellie Colwill - New Invented "Zombie-Like Cells" Act Alive "Despite Being Dead"

Scientists at the University of Alabama have found a new way to discover new natural compounds that could one day end up in pharmacies. they developed new cells that are technically not alive- but with membranes that continue to bind to different potentially useful compounds in samples. The scientists at UA hope to be able to use this technique in hopes it could make the process of weeding through thousands of compounds in natural product from weeks if not months to just a couple of days.

I can relate this to the time when experts found a disease within deer that can cause an animal to show signs of dementia, manifesting as difficulty walking and eating. These same experts have figured out that this disease can be passed to other animals through saliva, blood, urine, or other bodily fluids. The experts who did this research fear that humans can also be apart of this in the future. I can also related this to the first time the idea of the zombie was first introduced publicly, in 1968 the film Night of the Living Dead produced by George Romero, was played, and was specifically known as the first time a zombie was first introduced.
