On Friday, North Korea launched what seems to be a short-range missile. This missile test, the first since 2017, supposedly a reaction to the State of Talks with the US, and Trump's skimping of the Vietnam summit early Feb. North Korea began shooting a barrage of short range missiles on Friday. The missile supposedly didn't pose a threat to the US, South Korea, or Japan, as it landed in the water. Kim pledged not to fire long range intercontinental missiles, so his action doesn't go against that agreement. However, based on a history of North Korea's actions with missiles, we can conclude that this action is a warning of more to come.
Previously to this article, I was aware that North Korea using missiles as warnings was a common action, although I do hope that the complication can be settled, or the tension can be released so there is no fear of safety of any other lives. This is important because nuclear bombs are the destruction of the future, and the safety of innocent lives could be at risk. I can compare this to START, or the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, between the US and the USSR, signed in 1991. It successfully reduced all the tensions of the Cold War, so hopefully the US and North Korea can create a similar agreement that will help to reduce tensions.
