Missouri passed a bill to ban abortions after a heartbeat is detected. Missouri is the 8th state this year to pass the bill. The passing of this bill in several states means that there is a bigger chance of Roe v Wade being overturned. While this bill is restrictive, Alabama is the first state to have an outright ban on abortion on nearly all cases. However, abortion rights activists argue that limiting the procedure to before six weeks is essentially and outright ban because most women don't know they are pregnant until later.
I am personally pro choice because I support a woman's right to be able to choose if she wants to have a baby or not. If a woman feels that she cannot have a child for any reason, she should be able to go to a clinic and get an abortion in a safe and clean environment. Overturning Roe V. Wade will only ensure that women resort to unsafe methods. Though abortion won't be legal, women will still want to get abortions. This can be compared to when women were not able to get abortions in clinics and when activists pushed for legislation that allowed women to choose what they want to do with their bodies.

I agree with you. Women should be able to choose what happens to their own bodies. People should not force a women to carry and raise a child if she does not feel that she is able to. This ban is counteracting the court case of Roe v. Wade that has been in place since 1973. Lily Philips
