Southern California Fires Live Updates: 'We're Not Out of the Woods Yet'
The fires in California are still moving quickly through and many families were forced to evacuate. In San Diego a fire that was reaching about 4,100 acres was only like 15 percent contained which isn't very much. People were taken out of their houses it was so dangerous. Many houses are burned down to the ground, lots of animals and horses dead, and just overall destruction and devastation. The fire in Ventura has burned about 143,000 acres so far, killed one person, and destroyed more than 400 buildings plus many homes. A new fire in the Cleveland National Forest is covering about 15 acres and is still growing.
These fires in California are just devastating. I feel so bad for the families that will return home to nothing but ashes. I can not imagine. Nothing will replace those memories that a house holds. All hands are luckily on deck, and everyone is pitching in to help. Hopefully the fires will all stop before they get any worse. They will get through this!

  1. This is very scary to me because most of my family lives in the San Diego area, and luckily they're okay, but the fires may still get worse. Hopefully the next time fires break out they will be more easily contained.

  3. This is so scary my brother's girlfriend has family in California and she says that its crazy that they are still having them in December. Usually the fires stop in August and the mudslides start in winter, but because of the carbon emission and global warming, fires are more likely to occur.
