A quite controversial case has recently came up surrounding the debate over Trump's new policies involving illegal immigration. This woman in Mississippi, named Daniela Vargas, has been detained by ICE officers. Though she is 22 years old now, Vargas was brought to the U.S. as a child. Authorities are saying that because her family came as part of a visa waiver program, they should be immediately deported. Now, Vargas' lawyers are pushing for her to have a chance to make a case in court.
I feel that this woman and her family should most definitely be allowed to have the court case. Not only because they have already seemed to have lived in the U.S. for quite a while, but also because it gives them a chance to keep what they have learned to call home. I'm curious yet rather worried about how far this administrative crackdown on immigration is going to go. But I feel that if the authorities are not going to simply allow the family to live here, at least give them a chance to make a case to persuade them.

Kiri Luckey: I agree, this women definitely should be allowed to have a court case. Because we have an amendment that says we are allowed a judge and the choice of a witness to a case.
ReplyDeleteAgree, we should be able to present our rights into court so yes she SHOULD be allowed a court case.
ReplyDeleteAgreed as well! she needs a court case and we should be able to present our rights into court!
