I think that this article is demonstrating how our society is rather quick to judge on matters of personal safety. Not that they should be so quick, but it's creating issues with the choosing of juries and other matters in court.

It is important that America's juries are fair, unbiased audiences especially when dealing with high level cases that could potentially lead to protests, etc.

It may actually be a good thing that it's taking so long for the jury to be made. At least the possible jurors are admitting that they wouldn't give a fair trial, which is definitely something they ought to be credited for.
