This article was written by Amir Vera and Rebekah Riess on May 5,2019. Jaylon Mckenzie was a 14 year old eighth-grader who already had a few college offers. His plan was to be a professional football star, but sadly, he was shot and killed on a late Saturday night in Illinois.There were a few reports about shots fired at a large party in Venice and Jaylon was there when a fight broke out.However, Jaylon was not involved in the fight. He was hit by a stray bullet before he left the party, along with a few other students.
This event makes me think about the event we recently had against gun violence. It is so sad to see that people lose their lives to reasons like this. I feel so bad for his family and hope that something can soon be done about gun violence in America.

It seems that no matter how much we fight against the use of gun violence it continues to be a problem and nothing is changing and its actually getting worse. We as people of this country need to see that this is a big problem that needs to be fixed.
ReplyDeleteGun violence continues to take the lives of innocent people. I feel that there has to be a change in the gun laws to prevent access to people who should not own guns.
