Carsyn Gekas 5/7/18

Kilauea volcano in Hawaii erupted on Thursday sending lots of molten rocks and high levels of sulfur dioxide into the air and the area. After only 4 days about 26 homes we already destroyed. After the volcano erupted Thursday, there was an earthquake at the strength of 6.9 which was the most powerful in many years. The residents in these areas are asked to evacuate due to the harmful chemicals and lava that is flooding the area. The red cross has set up many shelters around proving shelter for these who are evacuating from the mountain. The vents are still going, lava is still coming out.
This is very scary and I can't imagine what these people are feeling. Many people would have never thought this would happen, however there was always that risk. I hope everything settles down soon. People are seeing videos of their homes being flooded by hot lava. They will loose everything. I hope everyone can come together and help those affected.
