Allison majors 5/7

This past week in Hawaii, the Kilauea volcano erupted. One woman had originally bought a home in the Leilani Estates nearby, knowing that the volcano could erupt at any moment, but she never thought that it would actually happen. This powerful volcano has destroyed many homes and everyone in Leilani Estates has had to evacuate. Many people are in shock of this disaster and don’t know what move they need to make next. Volunteers are helping these people with basic necessities.
This reminds me of the Dust Bowl in US history. The Dust Bowl was an unexpected event that hurt the lives of many farmers. People had to suddenly search for another job or relocate to another state. Their lives took a turn for the worst and they had to seek other options just like these people in Hawaii will have to do.
