Sophia Jalilvand: Paris Orly Airport: Man killed was involved in another shooting

Summary: In the Paris Orly Airport, a man was involved in a carjacking and shooting at a traffic stop and then tried to seize a soldier's gun. Thankfully, security forces fired on him and killed him. The officer at the traffic stop is undergoing treatment, but because the man was only using steel bullets, he was not seriously injured. The man is apparently already known to intelligence agencies and has been involed in nine instances of drug trafficking and armed robbery. We are still not sure if the action were driven by terrorist nature.

Analysis: Everyone, including myself, is relieved that authorities took action swiftly, not allowing the man to go further and do more harm to the country. Even the presidential candidates took to Twitter to commemorate France's security forces that worked so efficiently. It is disheartening to see people so violent, but such is our world and we can only hope to continue having good protection forces.

  1. I'm glad he didn't do more harm. I'm glad the officer is okay. This situation could have gone much worse, so I'm glad security acted fast.
