Summary: In late 2016, 76 women set sail for Antarctica. They all had backgrounds in science. This was more than just a mere "getaway". This was the biggest all women group to travel to Antarctica. This was part of an important 10 year mission to mold 1000 women in science to lead, influence and contribute to society and policy at the highest levels. They did much research and conducted many studies. They proved that women can add to protecting the planet just as much as men. Women weren't even allowed to to work in the Antarctic region until 1969. That's after the first woman had been in space!! This mission was revolutionary and there are more to come.
Analysis: I think this is so cool. What better way to show that women are just as scientifically capable as men than this. This is also a great example to young girls who want to go into science. I can't wait until the next mission goes out. I definitely will be waiting to see what happens.
