As of November of this year, it seems as if McDonald's is loosing its popularity among people. What else would explain the 2.2 percent drop at a global level and a 4.6 percent drop within the United States? Whatever it is, business executives are thinking of new strategies to employ so this decrease in profit will not continue. In fact, the company has already made a statement to address the problem. “To restore momentum, McDonald's US is diligently working to enhance its marketing, simplify the menu and implement a more locally-driven organizational structure to increase relevance with consumers.”
Even if this plan were to bring results, it might not be enough to match up to McDonald's top competitor at the time, which is Chipotle. In the third quarter of 2014, Chipotle same-store sales increased by 19.8 percent while McDonald's same-store sales decreased by 3.3 percent. There will be no doubt that both sides will be watching the numbers as if they were their children, and there is no doubt that the advertisements will go away any time soon. The real question though, is where you will want to go for a quick dinner. So, do you feel like burgers, or Mexican?

Americans are well aware of how much Mcdonalds is terrible for you. Chipotle, while better for you is also pretty calorie rich and bad for you. Mcdonalds the company is actually owned by Mcdonalds so Chipotles gain is Mcdonalds gain too.
ReplyDeleteI believe that any fast food restaurant is bad and just shows that companies are less willing to deliver healthy alternatives to customers because it's more expensive.

Chipotle is, actually to my surprise (I just found out like last week), owned by McDonald's. And I am really surprised yet somewhat cheering that McDonald's is decreasing because their food is soooooooo fake and soooooooooooooooooooooo bad for you
