Recently, General Mills announced that it would return a 90s kid's favorite cereal to store shelves nationally after an right year hiatus: French Toast Crunch. The cereal was thought to have reached its end in 2006, the year that Twitter was first introduced and the year that led the globe to denounce the planet Pluto to a dwarf planet. With the arrival of this news, many 90s kids that are now in their 20s get the chance to experience the breakfast that brightened their morning as a child. Only select U.S. stores shall carry the cereal for now, but in January the cereal will be reintroduced to national grocery shelves. Although the cereal said farewell in the United States, the cereal was still prominent in nations such as close-by Canada. With the news that they could buy the cereal from their Canadian counterparts, many die-hard fans began to order the cereal from Canada until recently discovering the reintroduction of the missing cereal into their lives. This love for the cereal shows how much Americans are not only drawn to the food we eat, but the memories generally associated with it. Breakfast is a time in which we sit down and take a moment to slow down and enjoy the sugary coated goodness that injects life into the un eventful morning that generally occurs in most American homes. I absolutely can not wait to hear about news fans of the cereal and how the cereal has made their day.
