What Could've and Should've In the Republican Party - Max Gaddis 9th period

http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/08/politics/republican-officials-donald-trump-marco-rubio-ted-cruz/

Cruz and Kasich both dropped out this week, leaving Trump as the Republican with the most potential to be the nominee, but could they have prevented it? Cruz's sources say a Cruz-Rubio team would have led the polls with 65%-35% against Trump, and Kasich also tried to get Rubio to be his VP, but things didn't work out that way in Rubio's mind. Rubio thought that 2 non-white senators would give Trump a reason to make an "us vs them" mentality with his voters. Kasich later tried to get Rubio, but Rubio thought it was too early in the primaries to form a solid team and stick with it until November.

I think that Trump's a fool and anything would have been better than this. Maybe Cruz or Kasich wouldn't have had to drop out if they had teamed up with Rubio. This is also a really suspicious thing because Cruz and Kasich dropped out almost at the same time. This election has honestly been the most surprising election I think.

If Trump wins, it will be as bad as electing Ronald Reagan for president because they both had no experience in politics before their decision to run and they have the same idea of foreign and domestic policy. It will be a mess.

I don't really know how Trump is going to like being controlled for four years if he wins. He cannot speak as freely as he usually does and expect to be respected by his adversaries.

  2. I agree with Brenna. Trump basically has no filter, and that is not a good quality in the President of the United States.
