Washed Up Whales- Emily Eppig

13 young sperm whales washed up on the beach of Germany at the beginning of 2016. Their autopsy revealed that they had all died due to heart failure and their stomached contained a lot of man made trash and fishing contraptions. The garbage didn't actually cause the whale's deaths but its discovery left scientists and environmentalists to question the effects of humans on aquatic life. Sadly, this isn't the first, and probably wont be the last, destruction of animal life caused by human ignorance.
Much like Theodore Roosevelt's views on conservationism and the creation of national parks, the protection of these animals and their ecosystem is vital to the wellness of our planet.
Something must be done to keep our planet clean and balanced. It is solely the fault of humans for the destruction of many of the Earth's creatures and ecosystems and it needs to stop.
