"Ted Cruz drops out of presidential race"- Leah Messinger (period 1)

  This past week, on Tuesday May 3, 2016, Republican candidate Ted Cruz dropped out of the presidential race. Cruz forfeited after recognizing the likelihood of his eventual defeat by candidate Donald Trump. He stated, "With a heavy heart but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign." This withdrawal left many people angry and distraught realizing that Trump would be their Republican nominee.
  This unpredictable election is unlike any other as most people did not take Donald Trump seriously when he initially entered, and now he is even closer to becoming the Republican nominee. Now, Americans are wondering who their democratic nominee will be, either Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton.
