Victoria Garza "N.F.L. Tried to Influence Concussion Research, Congressional Study Finds"

In 2012, NFL agreed to donate millions of dollars towards concussion research, however it was recently revealed that the committee worked to influence the research towards a doctor with ties to the league. The concerns rose about the nature of the study due to the long history involving the NFL and concussion research.
Because football is a sport based on physical ability and there are several players who experience physical injuries, including broken bones as well as most often concussions. At first it seems as though contributing money to concussion research would benefit those who got concussions through football in order to get them back on the field as soon as possible. The fact that they're not actually putting the money to good research could prevent new discoveries from being found. This is similar to other scandals in US history like the watergate scandal.
