Half of America's teenagers feel addicted to their cell phones, and in a recent survey of 1,240 parents, the majority confirmed their kids weren't capable of giving up their phones. Checking Instagram, snapchat, and facebook or responding to friends' texts now engulf hours kids' daily routines. This article claims that children 8-12 spend up to 6 hours on cellular devices each day while 13 to 18's may even reach 9 hours a day.
While cell phones have inspired world wide communication in the younger generations, hours upon hours glued to a tiny screen has also spurred countless negative effects. Too much time on phones make teenagers more irritable, less motivated to be productive or do anything helpful, more vulnerable if used when driving, distracted from homework, and more preoccupied with communication through a tiny device rather than spending actual physical time with people.
