[Captain America : Civil War Spoiler Alert]
After avoiding spoilers for a week--which is hard to do nowadays, don't get me wrong--I finally managed to watch Civil War. Even though it didn't live up to my expectations, it did provide me with a topic to write about for my weekly blog post and a topic to synthesize to for my review project.
Civil War strayed from the comic it was very loosely based off of, which is why I wasn't really 'blown away' by this entry. What I was blown away by though is how many similarities the movie and the American Civil War have.
For starters, one side was for the government and one was against, and the one that was against basically seceded. Spider-Man could be seen as a border state considering he was closer to Captain America, (both from New York, "have heart," fight crime under no one's supervision, etc.) but believed in what Iron Man said. Cap is fighting for something that has been a part of his life for a very long time and is seen by everyone else as wrong, Bucky, like the South did with slavery. Tony tried to end the conflict diplomatically but the conflict just ended up with fighting and casualties, like War Machine getting all messed up thanks to Vision and Spider-Man getting beaten up by Cap.
I don't really see what kind of article to use here, so I'll just link the wiki page for the movie or something // https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_America:_Civil_War
the movie was alright
That made me want to go see it, it's cool how basically anything can relate to US History.
ReplyDeleteThat was a very good synthesis.( Alejandra Hernandez 6th period)
ReplyDeleteYeah it's a basic if a little to black and white depiction of the conflicting ideas of personal liberty and freedom of choice vs oversight and responsibility.
