Global warming worsens with record temps, widespread coral bleaching - Erin O'Day

Last year, a climate control agreement was reached by many of the nation's developed countries at the summit meeting in Paris. Yet in the six months since that decision to try to reduce carbon emissions, the amount of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere is only increasing. In fact it's reached historical levels; there is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than there has been in our atmosphere for several millenia. Global warming is getting worse and worse every year, and with the increasing ocean temperatures comes the destruction of delicate coral reefs which are vital to our environment.

Global warming is real and important, perhaps the most important issue facing us right now, but it seems so overlooked. I hope people will soon realize it's importance and the gravity of global warming. But it is only recently really that anyone has cared, it just wasn't something that anyone thought about back then. Like in the late 19th and early 20th centuries was when the government started protecting land and nature with the national park system.
