Earlier this week, a father and a son from another country visited Yellowstone National Park. They saw a baby bison, and were very concerned that it was freezing to death, so they put it in their SUV. The pair then drove to the Rangers office and demanded to speak to one. After being told they weren't supposed to touch the wildlife, the father and son showed indifference to their law-breaking and more concern for the health of the baby bison. The two were ticketed, and Yellowstone National Park issued a statement advising all tourists to keep a good distance from the animals.

I think that it is dangerous for tourists to interact with the animals, for both the animals and the people, but I also think the Rangers should always make sure that the animals are safe and healthy. Conservation grew in popularity during the administration of Teddy Roosevelt, who himself was a conversationalist that passed legislation to create 5 National Parks, similar to the Yellowstone National Park.
