12 year old dies on field day- Emily Miller

A 6th grader at Pell City Middle School in Alabama collapsed during a game of tug of war. Nurses rushed outside and called the police when they realized she was having a serious medical emergency. They did CPR on her, but when she was taken to the hospital, she was already dead.

An autopsy was done, and they don't think the incident was heat-related. She also had no medical conditions that would cause her to faint. The cause of her death right now is a mystery, and the entire community is mourning her death.

Schools take lots of precaution to prevent crises like these, and I know my brother's elementary school doesn't even have Valentines parties because they are afraid that someone will have an allergic reaction to the candy. I get that schools are strict about health issues, but I think more regular medical examinations should become required instead of restricting safety even more.
