Boy Found Behind False Wall- Hannah Clifford 5th Period

A thirteen year old boy in the Atlanta area was found on Saturday behind a false wall after he was missing for four years. The police took his father and stepmother, the owners of the house, into custody. Their neighbors never suspected a thing until Friday night when the police received a phone call asking them to check the house. The first time they search, they found nothing. For reasons not explained, they returned a second time. This time, the boy called his mother and told her to have them check behind the false wall, and the police found him. Some neighbors said that the boy's father never seemed at all suspicious in any way.

This was written by Ralph Ellis, Jason Hanna and Chandler Friedman for CNN. This happy reuniting of mother and son was a great moment. Why the police were not tipped off sooner, we will never know. I cannot see any reason for hiding your son away behind a false wall for four years. It is cruel. Even in the event that a person was not granted custody over the child, a parent should not resort to actions such as kidnapping and imprisonment.

  1. Its heartwarming that this child was able to return to his mother. I cannot imagine being held captive and away from my mother. This will likely have a profound impact on this child for the rest of his life.
