A 22 year old Ohio State football player named Kosta Karageorge was found by a mother and her child while scavenging dumpsters. Police on the scene identified him by his tattoos. It has been stated that the cause of death was a self-inflicted gun shot wound. Karageorge was said to have left his house Tuesday night to go on a walk with some friends after being stressed about sports at school. When he did not return, his sister, Sophia, informed the police. They went on to post missing signs across the campus and surrounding area. It wasn't until Sunday when the mother and child stumbled across the body. That night, hundreds of students gathered on campus at a statue of Ohio State's founder to remember and mourn for Karageorge.
This death was so sudden and unforeseen that finding out why or how is hard to comprehend. What comes to my mind is possibly a campus murder. The article talked about how he complained about head pains from concussions. This could relate to the idea that he shot himself. Could the pain have been so overbearing that it was better to end his life? This tragedy happened so recently that there is not much that the public has been told.

Since the family seems to think that he went out with friends, maybe they should start investigating whether it not that is true and go from there. That would give the police some much needed insight.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with the previous comment. But he was also stressed about sports and school, and maybe that got to him. I really hope it wasn't self inflicted. And if it wasn't, I can't wait to hear who did it and why.
ReplyDeleteThis is awful! Although definitely counted as 'current events', this kind of stuff makes me so sad because most of us don't see the reality of these incidents unless they happen to us or our family personally, and hearing about the incident and the details of the man's thoughts and concerns, the struggles and pain that we can all relate to just makes the incident more of a reality, and all the more awful. I hope that some resolution can be brought to the situation - whether or not that comes through the finding of a murderer or the truth on self-inflicted harm.
