On Tuesday,Trump administration says it will explore regulating google-an effort that would challenge protections around free speech online.Trump says that Google manipulates search results to show negative stories about him and other republicans.
I personally think that Trump is overreacting over something he's caused.Maybe it:s not a negative thing,its just what he has done, and that's what may seem to him as something wrong (even thought he caused it.People are just posting what they think )
Personally, I was not aware of this current "exploration" by Trump administration, yet hearing of it for the first time provokes nightmarish visions similar to that of George Orwell's society in his novel 1984, controlled by dictatorial leader Big Brother.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, and believe that the online space is one for creating, expressing, and communicating, especially as it has created so many bonds and ties from person to person throughout the world. Therefore, if this space were to be monitored, we would end up reinforcing the idea of censorship, the unconstitutional prohibition of different forms of expression if thought politically offensive, obscene, or a threat. This would lead to a multitude of consequences for not only the people of America, yet also the rest of the world.
I agree with everything everyone is saying. I think this ponderance by the Trump admin. is absolutely ridiculous. Are they serious? This is boarderline dictatorship-style thinking. There are way too many consequences to the whole for a a couple benefits of a temporary few.
