John McCain has had a long lasting feud with Donald Trump. In his final letter to the people of the United States before he passed, he reminded the county of its founding beliefs and pillars, saying that "we weaken it [our greatness] when we hide behind walls, rather than tear them down." There has been no response from Donald Trump, and the flags at the white house were held at half mast for only one day.
The authors are very knowledgeable as they all have experience in and around the white house. I used to only know John McCain from the previous elections where he was the republican candidate. After his death I have found out so much more about him, and his opposition to Trump. This article was written to inform people on this letter and the immediate response. This reminds me of Washington's Farewell Address. This was his final words before stepping down where he outline what he wanted for the county in the future. Both men wanted to leave their county with something to remember.

I love that you referenced Washington’s farewell address! I didn’t connect the two on my own but it’s a perfect synthesis!
ReplyDeleteI agree with your connection of McCain and George Washington. They both have left their legacy for the United States to look back on.
