There's a Fire, Eh?- Emily Eppig

Fire fighters were nervous when another massive wildfire broke out in Alberta, Canada, the 9th one so far this year. Hot, dry temperatures and low humidity fueled this fire in becoming a catastrophic event. Local residents of nearby towns had been alerted to be able to evacuate on a moments notice. The fire resulted in the burning of over 7,00 acres of land and the evacuation of over 100,000 Canadian citizens.
This natural disaster is similar to the numerous others in American history such as Hurricane Katrina in New orleans. Both events were unpredictable in nature resulted in massive amounts of environmental damage, loss of life, and displacement of those who lost their homes.
Hopefully the Canadian citizens affected by this disaster will recover soon and be able to return to normal life.
