The Obama Administration by Shelby Linker, 8th period

On Friday, the Obama Administration finally spoke on the controversial topic of whether of not transgender people should use the restroom of their birth gender or the gender of their sexual identity. The administration sent guidelines to public schools across the nation stating that they cannot discriminate against transgender students in a variety of settings ranging from restrooms to sports.

I honestly feel like this shouldn't be a debate, allow anyone to use whichever restroom they want to it's not like it affects that much. If this idea bothers you for some reason then there is a reason why we also have stalls. This reminds me of when the sexual revolution started, although we think some of these movements have stopped there are still many fighting for their rights and equality. If you look around, I hope you notice that there are bigger problems we face, if you haven't noticed, Trump has a huge chance of becoming the Republican candidate for the Presidency.

Great argument on the fact that public bathrooms have stalls, so what does it matter. If this issue makes some uncomfortable though, I understand that it will take a lot to change their opinions.
