South China Sea by Andrew Witcher 4th

Last Wednesday, two Russian J-11 Tactical Planes made an unsafe intercept of a US surveillance plane conducting a routine fly by over the South China Sea. They came within 50 feet of the US aircraft, setting international tensions high. The countries have been trying to reduce operational forces tension for some time now, but it seems to just keep building. Experts think China is trying to expand their territory into the seal a bit, as they are producing small naval bases on what used to be reefs. This could be potentially harmful as it is both international waters and airspace.

  1. Uh oh. I hope it doesn't escalate into another Cold War type.

  2. Matthew Homsher 9th- Russia and China have both been expanding militarily in the recent months. That is not a good sign.

  3. I agree with Matthew^ Since Russia and China are both already so powerful, and known for their long history of Communism, this is not good for the world.
