North Carolina sues
The article I read from CNN was published this morning, May 9, 2016, and updates readers on the North Carolina's fight with U.S. Justice Department over their new bathroom bill. The bill bans individuals from using public bathrooms that do not correspond with their biological sex (meaning the sex on their birth certificate). The federal government feels the act is discrimination. North Carolina's top officials sued the U.S. Justice Department and will meet with them in federal court.

I personally agree with the will the federal government in that the bill is discrimination and shouldn't be implemented. The bill is allowing states to move backwards in their growing towards equality for sexes, genders, and races. This bill is almost parallel to the times when their were bathrooms and water fountains based on race. I believe reverting back to those times, the times of mass ridicule and abuse of people who are not like us, would be detrimental not only to the state of North Carolina, but to the United States as well. Segregated restrooms, which is essentially what North Carolina is doing,  could be the start of many poor acts of discrimination, which the government is trying to prevent. Transgender men and women should feel free to use the public restroom wherever they identify without discrimination, especially from their state.

  1. Pat McCrory is an incompetent jackass who should be removed from office as soon as possible. EVERYBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO USE THE BATHROOM.
