Muslim girl called 'Isis' in high school yearbook - Erin O'Day

A Muslim high school girl was listed as "Isis Phillips" in her high school yearbook, in which she was wearing a hijab, and that is most definitely not her name. She tweeted the pitcture and called the school out on being racist, and also said that the school had contacted her saying that it was a "regrettable misprint." People all over social media are coming to her side and speaking out that racism and Islamaphobia like this is not ok.

This disgusts me. What kind of sick joke is this? I feel so bad for her but happy that she os standing up and speaking out. Unlike what many would try to say, racism was not solved in the 60s with the civil rights movement. It is still very real and needs to be fought everywhere.

  1. This is a horrible idea of a joke. When will racial profiling end? I am brown. Roots of this event can be traced to the war on terrorism.

  2. The "joke" is very hurtful and racist. Honestly they should punish the person who wrote it and the school for allowing such behavior.
