Summery: There was a fire that "is burning out of control". Although it is starting to get better, the fire was not containable and made its way towards populated areas. Many people evacuated and were scarred from seeing their town burn. Although thousands of acres have already been destroyed, less was destroyed than predicted. Luckily, Canadians are nice people and the unaffected people are allowing victims to stay in their homes.
Analysis: This is similar to the hurricane Catrina disaster. It destroyed an entire city, and it caused many people to evacuate their homes. A big difference in this fire is that lots of the damage was predicted and people were far more prepared for it. In Catrina, however, lots of people were trapped in the city because of flooding and not being able to evacuate quickly enough. Wildlife conservationists should work to help contain forest fires from happening so that we can protect the people that live near them, and the natural landscape as well.
