From homeless to honorary by kera mickus

As DISD seoir, Kewona Jones is surprised about the sudden change in the course of her life. At 14, she was living in a homeless shelter with little more than the framework of a broken life and the chapel she was required to attend. She developed a relationship with God, and worked hard to attain her dreams, first of which were to grow out of the life which had suppressed her abilities as a first class student.
“Kewona is steadfast…driven, focused, hungry,”says Louie White, PhD, a veteran instructor in the program. Jones says White and another teacher, Mr. Boone, have been her favorites, and mentors. “She said, ‘am I ready for this?’ I said, ‘you’re ready. You have outgrown this’. It was time.”
Jones has racked up $82,000 in scholarships, and looks forward to her bright future, in the hopes that she will continue to succeed in a life she never believed she would achieve.

Synthesis:
Earl colonists were broken, unable to sustain themselves and worked for independence from their over controlling mother nation. Over time, they worked hard to liberate themselves and stride freely in their new lives after the Revolution.
