Angelique Flores 9th- Dog dies after grooming at PetSmart

Summary:  A Dog named Henry who was taken to a California PetSmart store has died while in the care of a groomer. Since then the police in San Mateo have arrested the groomer named Juan Zarate on suspicion of animal Cruelty. The Dachshund from what police reports say was visibly bleeding from his mouth as well as having trouble breathing when they arrived. Henry died a few minutes after. An X-ray of the dog showed that he had suffered two broken ribs and a punctured lung. This has upset many dog owners who are demanding more strict regulations for groomers.

Analysis: There was a story somewhat similar to this one in 2014. I do agree from dog owner to dog owner that there should be more strict regulations for groomers not just from PetSmart but from or for any grooming service.  It's a sad day for any animal owner who has lost their companion, but to have lost them to something so odd. They leave their animals with a groomer who they believe is qualified for taking care of their companion and come back to a pet who've been cruelly mistreated. In a situation like this trust is lost and so is a loved one. I think there needs to be investigation done to actually assure that the people caring for animals are qualified for the job.

I can't imagine-if the groomer did commit this crime- what would bring him to do it. That is so sad both for the dog and the family.

  2. This is extremely disturbing. I can't imagine what might bring the groomer to do such a thing to someone elses pet. Smh.

  3. Why would someone take a job at a place where there are dogs if they hated dogs or were going to do this? Just why would they do this at all?

  4. I've heard about lots of things with Pet Smart and them mistreating animals. If I had a dog I definitely would think twice before taking my dog there.

  5. If things like this had happened before, you'd think there would be more of a public outcry to stop PetSmart's grooming service
