Teenager shot because of his loud music - Emily Gray 5th period

On November 17, 2012 a teenager, Jordan Davis, was shot and killed by Michael Dunn due to Jordan's loud car music. The evidence shows that there was no gun but Dunn said that there was a gun in the car. Dunn asked the teenager and his two friends to turn down the music but the refused and he reports that he heard threats from the car. Dunn was scared for his safety so he fired at the teenagers and killed one.

This article was written by Holly Tan by CNN News. When I first read this article it shocked me. I don't know if Dunn was telling the truth but he should not have starting shooting. He should have simply drove away.

  1. This is a really sad story to see. It just goes to show that getting a gun or having a gun easily accessible is not cool.

  3. Tyra Harris, 5th period

Dunn's story is not credible. How can one be scared for his life by another's loud music? It's sad to read about a young life taken away so soon for no apparent reason.

  4. I find this story somewhat synonymous to the Trevon Martin case. Similar case, same illegitimate reasoning for ones actions.

  5. Yeah I agree. His reasons for committing the crime seem very shady and I believe his story should be looked into more.
