Hurricane Sandy has brought a large amount of destruction to the Northeast. In Bridgeport, Connecticut utility workers attempt to restore power to the city, but are pelted with eggs and other items by local residents around the time a comment was made by Mayor Finch saying that the local power company "shortchanged" the city. The company decided to withdraw the workers from their work for concern of their safety. The company made the statement that the utility workers will not be working unless local police are present to keep the workers safe from the dangerous eggs.
So, why are the residents punishing the utility workers? Seriously, even if the company is "shortchanging" the city, it isn't the fault of the company's onsite workers.
This is so strange. Shortchanged or not, by egging them, everybody loses. Even if they were shortchanged, it can be dealt with later. Who else is there to fix utilities anyway?
