A seven year old girl was close to dying from Leukemia. Leukemia is cancer of the blood or bone marrow, and is very serious. At the University of Pennsylvania, the girl's T-Cells were genetically modified to hinder the cancer's ability to continue. Doctors were able to create an antidote to the side affects of the gene therapy, which has resulted in saving 10 other lives. This is really interesting, and important. Cancer is difficult to cure and chemotherapy can be dangerous. I wonder what countless great things discoveries like this could lead to.

Hopefully there are more cures for cancer because many people around the world have cancer and they're not recognized because they're viewed as unimportant hopefully we can cure millions before it's too late.
