Still Wearing You're Hoodies?- Jorge Olvera
George Zimmerman is still on the defense on what happened that night. He committed murder that die on self defense, but he shouldn't of followed Martin in the first place. Then it could be argued that the police are never there when you need them. One of the things that the media has tried to shove out is that Trayvon is an angle. Before that incident he was in several fights and suspended on many occasions, and this kid is way bigger than Zimmerman. He played football! If someone that big was beating me up, i'd be scared for my life and if I had a gun I would pop it as fast as I could.

9-year old rapper's video goes viral
Nine year old rapper Louie Rivera a.k.a Lil Poopy has a viral video that proposes adult themes in it. This video feature Louie driving a ferrari and flashing money all over the place. This video also featured sexual themes in it. Neighbors were concerned about this boy's video and called the police. I don't know why a lot of children want to become rappers now, half of the rappers today are bad and they're fake. Also rappers today don't really have a positive message in their music. I don't know why this boy's parents would let him do such a thing.

ANCIENT "Micro Continent" DISCOVERED UNDER INDIAN OCEAN - Jonas Portillo
The remains of a micro-continent scientist call Mauritia might be preserved under huge amounts of ancient lava beneath the Indian Ocean, a new analysis of island sands in the area suggests. These findings hint that such micro-continents may have occurred more frequently than previously thought, the scientists who conducted the study, detailed online Feb. 24 in the journal Nature Geoscience, say. Researchers analyzed sands from the isle of Mauritius in the western Indian Ocean. Mauritius is part of a volcanic chain that, strangely, exists far from the edges of its tectonic plate. In contrast, most volcanoes are found at the borders of the tectonic plates that make up the surface of the Earth. Investigators suggest that volcanic chains in the middle of tectonic plates, such as the Hawaiian Islands, are caused by giant pillars of hot molten rock known as mantle plumes. These rise up from near the Earth's core, penetrating overlying material like a blowtorch. Mantle plumes can apparently trigger continental breakups, softening the tectonic plates from below until they fragment — this is how the lost continent of Eastern Gondwana ended about 170 million years ago, prior research suggests. A plume currently sits near Mauritius and other islands, and the researchers wanted to see if they could find ancient fragments of continents from just such a breakup there. The beach sands of Mauritius are the eroded remnants of volcanic rocks created by eruptions 9 million years ago. Collecting them"was actually quite pleasant," said researcher Ebbe Hartz, a geologist at the University of Oslo in Norway. He described walking out from a tropical beach, "maybe with a Coke and an icebox, and you dig down underwater into sand dunes at low tide." Within these sands, investigators discovered about 20 ancient zircon grains (a type of mineral) between 660 million and 1,970 million years old. To learn more about the source of this ancient zircon, the scientists investigated satellite maps of Earth's gravity field. The strength of the field depends on Earth's mass, and since the planet's mass is not spread evenly, its gravity field is stronger in some places on the planet's surface and weaker in others. The researchers discovered Mauritius is part of a contiguous block of abnormally thick crust that extends in an arc northward to the Seychelles islands. The finding suggests Mauritius and the adjacent region overlie an ancient micro-continent they call Mauritia. The ancient zircons they unearthed are shards of lost Mauritia. The researchers meticulously sought to rule out any chance these ancient grains were contaminants from elsewhere. "Zircons are heavy minerals, and the uranium and lead elements used to date the ages of these zircons are extraordinarily heavy, so these grains do not easily fly around — they did not blow into Mauritius from a sandstorm in Africa," Hartz told OurAmazingPlanet. "We also chose a beach where there was no construction whatsoever — that these grains did not come from cement somewhere else," Hartz added. "We were also careful that all the equipment we used to collect the minerals was new, that this was the first time it was used, that there was no previous rock sticking to it from elsewhere." After analyzing marine fracture zones and ocean magnetic anomalies, the investigators suggest Mauritia separated from Madagascar, fragmented and dispersed as the Indian Ocean basin grew between 61 million and 83.5 million years ago. Since then, volcanic activity has buried Mauritia under lava, and may have done the same to other continental fragments. "There are all these little slivers of continent that may peel off continents when the hotspot of a mantle plume passes under them," Hartz said. "Why that happens is still mind-boggling. Why, after something gets ripped apart, would it rip apart again?" Finding past evidence of lost continents normally involves tediously crushing and sorting volcanic rocks, Hartz explained. The researchers essentially let nature do the work of pulverization for them by looking at sand. And it's so cool that there is a micro continent and wonder what it could have been like.

Preschools can't all be the same
It sounds nice knowing that Obama wants to make early education mandatory, but if there are conflicts that are stopping this education from being a good one, then I'm against it being mandatory. If it's forced upon a child for them to enroll in preschool and that school is a terrible one then the student will have started their education off on the wrong foot.

Here Comes The BOOM!!! by- Jorge Olvera
She had told me that a meteor hit Russia and F'ed up half the country! She continue to tell me, while I ate my cold pizza, that a fragment of it also flew into Alaska, causing more damage. I was just like, "DAAAAANNNG, that sucks."
Doing the blog, I searched up what happened and an estimated 950 people were injured. It also says that the shockwave was also very devastating destroying 300 buildings! The reason why this rare rock hit was because it was thought that it would fly over Earth and not on it.

New Angels slugger Josh Hamilton sparks controversy in Texas - Jonas Portillo
New Angels slugger Josh Hamilton ruffled some feathers in Texas on Monday when he told a television reporter that the Dallas-Fort Worth area isn't “a true baseball town,” a statement that is sure to earn him even more boos when the Angels play the Rangers in Texas on April 5. “Texas, especially Dallas, has always been a football town,” Hamilton, a five-time All-Star with the Rangers, said in an interview with Gina Miller of Dallas-based CBS-TV 11. “They’re supportive, but they also got a little spoiled at the same time, pretty quickly. There are true baseball fans in Texas, but it’s not a true baseball town.” Texas Manager Ron Washington declined to fuel a war of words, telling Rangers writers, “Josh is an Anaheim Angel. That’s his opinion. There were 3.5 million fans who came through the turnstiles [last season]. That answers it right there.” But Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News called Hamilton’s statement “a poison-tipped barb at a fan base that did nothing for five years but support him and offer him pretty much a free pass, regardless of the excuse or indiscretion.” Richard Durrett of ESPN Dallas.com acknowledged that “everyone knows” Dallas is a football town first, “but that doesn't mean it's not a baseball town. Hamilton should know better.” Hamilton offered no apologies after Monday’s workout with the Angels. “I told them on camera — I said there’s true baseball fans and then there are others that are not,” Hamilton said. “The ones that are true baseball fans won’t boo when I come back, and the ones that are not true fans will.” Hamilton’s reference to Rangers fans being spoiled has to do with the expectations created by World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011 and the harsh treatment he and the Rangers received from the home crowd after losing last year’s wild-card game to Baltimore. Hamilton went 0 for 4 and swung and missed at six of the eight pitches he saw in that game. “I’m not saying I don’t still appreciate them, but reality is reality,” Hamilton said. “I think I've always spoken the truth. I don’t beat around the bush. But I loved my time there.”

Pope Benedict XVI announces resignation - Jonas Portillo
pope Benedict XVI stunned the world and left the Catholic church reeling when he said on Monday that he would resign – the first pope to do so since the middle ages. The move, announced without warning, will take place on 28 February and leave the papacy vacant until a successor is chosen. A Vatican spokesman said the pontiff's aides were "incredulous" when he told them he would step down because he was too weak to fulfill his duties. The pope summoned a meeting of cardinals to tell them of "a decision of great importance for the life of the church". One of those called to hear the announcement, the Mexican prelate Monsignor Dr Oscar Sanchez said none of the cardinals had expected it. "The pope took a sheet of paper and read from it. He just said that he was resigning and that he would be finishing on February 28," he said. "The cardinals were just looking at one another. Then the pope got to his feet, gave his benediction and left. It was so simple; the simplest thing imaginable. Extraordinary. Nobody expected it. Then we all left in silence. There was absolute silence … and sadness."

Cyber attacks are when hackers break into the computer networks of other governments or companies to trespass and steal information, spy, or remotely control operations. It is possible for a terrorist cyber attack to black out the power grid, or shut down the stock exchange, for example. It concerns me that threats are sometimes no longer tangible.
