Trump considers ending the Obama-era program (Madeline Sabedra)

President Trump has been considering a plan that will end the Obama-era program forever. He has decided to give Congress merely six months to come up with an alternative. Officials who are working alongside Trump have stressed the fact that it is not set in stone. There is still a possibility that he could change his mind. It has not yet been decided whether or not certain beneficiaries of the program would be saved. (Such as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals--DACA) Congress may not be able to agree on a fix, so what will happen after six months is unclear. One official mentioned that Trump is sympathetic towards young immigrants (otherwise known as dreamers). Many democrats and corporate leaders (as well as some republicans) have urged Trump to keep the program. President Trump stated that they are "not after the dreamers, we are after the criminals." President Trump (along with many other people) are working towards a solution.
