More Than 40 Sites Released Hazardous Pollutants Because of Hurricane Harvey

After Hurricane Harvey, the Texas coast was devastated. Many factories were destroyed and released an overwhelming amount of pollutants into the air. This adds to the violent cycle of global warming. Human influence if the #1 reason for climate change and whether you believe it or not it affects every living thing on Earth. The industrial revolution may have sparked innovation and creativity, but it made our environment take a turn for the worst.

  1. I agree with what you said about the industrial revolution changing our society in both good and bad ways. We could have done so much more to change the ways of our world but no one seemed to think about the future then or now.

  2. You're totally right about the industrial revolution statement. Though innovation makes things ~easier~ it definitely does not make things better- or smarter in the long run. We are having tons of natural disasters right now- yes its hurricane season, and yes these disasters are occurring in hurricane prone areas- but warm water fuels hurricanes. So global warming is definitely helping these hurricanes take flight.

  3. I agree with you about how the industrial revolution created convenient machines that broadened the economy yet caused so much damage to the environment. Now that machinery like cars and trains exist, we need to learn to use them warily so we don't damage the environment further.

  4. I find it a bit ironic how climate change caused such a massive hurricane to form, only to have it destroy hazardous material sites and thus create more climate-threatening damage. It's just a vicious cycle of growing worsening conditions.
