Singapore elected a President without a vote, by default, Halimah Yacob won due to her being the only candidate.Relates a lot how many of the United States early Presidents came about.

  1. It's almost unbelievable that no one else would run for president! I wonder how to the political and social elements of this country affect how people perceive the presidency, and what Singapore's specific presidency entails. It's a big indicator of the liberality and progressiveness of this country that a woman was elected without anyone else putting up a fight.
