Irma leaves devastation in the keys - Taylor Knighton

Irma is still causing chaos in South Carolina late Monday after causing 10 deaths in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Families are lined up and traffic is backed up because people are desperate to get back home to see if they even have a home anymore but authorities are not allowing them saying it is far to dangerous. In Cudjoe key, Florida where Irma caused massive damage, with cars tossed from the roads, bury under sand, and also homes knocked right off from their foundation. Bridges are damaged and completely flooded also boats thrown upside down, roofs ripped off and mobile homes demolished, this just gives you a glimpse of this powerful storm surge that rolled hurricane Irma's landfall. Downed power lines and the beach pilling into the roadway is showing you how Irma has really ruined this piece of paradise that is now on a long road to recovery.

This relates to hurricane Harvey because Irma has done just as much damage as Harvey and it will take all the areas that were affected by these hurricanes a long time to recovery not only physically but emotionally as well. I feel like if we all put aside our differences and come together to help rebuild everything that was destroyed we can make change and be even stronger than we were before.

  1. Hurricanes are a very powerful natural force. It destroyed many people's life and killed just as many. Leaving people stranded and having nowhere to go. We as a country might not even fully recover and come back to being "normal". We need to do what we can to help those in need.

  2. These hurricanes that have happened lately have been so disasterous. These people's homes have been destroyed by the ginormous winds that are rolling through. These people need so much help to try and get back to what it was before.

  3. It is always sad to hear about the damages caused by Hurricane Irma. The places that people hold dear to their heart are being destroyed. However, if the communities can come together in this time of need they will grow and strengthen as a whole.
