Alzheimer's Disease is causing Medicare/ Medicaid to become Bankrupt - Michal Randolph

"Alzheimer's  Disease is diagnosed to someone every 66 seconds." Alzheimer's disease aka AD is the only disease that has no cure, and no treatment and is the 6th leading cause of death in the world. While all the other percentages of causes of death  AD is on the rise and expected to double in the next 30 years.
AD is not only taking the lives of patients also the lives of  the patients caretakers. Finding out the news that your loved one was diagnosed with AD can be enough stress alone but added on top of that having to take care of them, paying for the many doctor visits , coming up with enough money to support your own life and theirs and finding time to do all that can be very stressful.
AD is taking over a quarter of a million dollars every year out of the Medicare/Medicaid right now. Imagine in 5 or 10 more years as the Baby Boomers are becoming of the age that number will continue to grow.

I believe that we need to hurry up and find a cure to this terrible disease. We need to open up networks, support groups and fundraisers to help aid the people affected with this disease and those who are helping there loved ones suffering with this disease. I hope the advancements in technology and knowledge a will enable us to help those affected. http://www.edition.cnn.com/2017/03/07/health/alzheimers-report-2017/index.html

  1. My grandma suffers from dementia which is a more broad term for Alzheimer's. I agree that we need to find a cure for this disease ASAP. I can't imagine how others who have lost their loved ones feel.

  2. My gandpa is showing early signs of Alzheimers too. I hope they find a cure to this disease as well, seeing as how its the 6th leading cause of death and death rates due to Alzheimers have risen 89% since 2000. Fundraisers, awareness talks, and more donation to research could save so many people's lives.

  3. I understand that this disease is very devastating indeed, but not only should we focus on finding a cure for Alzheimers, we should be trying to find cures for all sicknesses and cancers.
