Officials were struggling on Monday to reach Florida Keys and help many Floridians there who are
without food, water or communication. The safety of the remaining residents of
the Keys is in danger and should heed updates and warning from officials.
The article
was written by Elliot McLaughlin, and he writes the article from a third person
perspective. The article was written September 11, 2017, which means it is
fairly recent news. The topic of the article is the damage of Hurricane Irma,
which devastated Florida and parts of South Carolina. It finds
its way to Florida in the wake of Hurricane
Harvey, which hit Houston, Texas. The knowledge that I have of the
hurricanes greatly helped my understanding of the article, which is entirely
about the condition of Florida.
The people reading the article on the lookout for updates on the safety of any
friends or family they may have in the Keys. The article is trying to tell the
audience that evacuations are still needed in the Keys and it is not safe to
return of leave the safety of the homes. The article is important because it
notifies Floridians and people keeping tabs on their situation and safety. The
document affirms the reality and danger of natural disasters and encourages
people to educate themselves before making the decision of not evacuating. This
article relates greatly to Hurricane Harvey, which occurred in Texas not a week prior
to Hurricane Irma.

Liam Wise- It's always heartbreaking to see fellow American citizens lose their homes. The hurricane relief effort should be top priority in the South. We weren't 100% prepared for this meteorological upheaval but it's time now to be there for the survivors.
