The 2018 midterm elections for US Senate runs through a few East Coast races or, as the article put it, “tossup states.” First polls begin closing at 6pm eastern in Kentucky and Indiana, but the key race to watch is Kentucky with the seat currently being held by a republican and with a well financed democratic opponent. Indiana’s seat is currently being held by a democrat as republican are trying to expand their senate. Florida, Virginia, and Georgia polls all close at 7pm Eastern. In Florida, they hope to bring more democrats to the voting polls. In Georgia, Stacey Abrams is running against a republican and could become the first black female governor in the US. In Virginia there are several chances for Democrats to start taking a head in government. Polls start to close at 7:30pm Eastern in North Carolina and Ohio. In Ohio, this is where a lot of attention leans as republican Mike DeWine faces Democrat Cordray to follow John Kasich who is leaving because of term limits. At 8pm eastern, polls close in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas. Polls close at 9pm eastern in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, and Wisconsin. Polls close at 10pm eastern in Iowa, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, North Dakota, and Utah.
This article appears to be biased towards the Democratic Party as the author seems to be excited as Democrats continue to grow and hopefully take charge. As this article pertains to democrats, it explain more about democrats coming along and not as much about republicans showing that republicans most likely dislike this article. This article was great in that it explained details about each state and how polls are turning out, when they’re closing, and who is running for what. As democrats and republicans have been battling for spots in office since 1789, we are really able to see this contrast throughout this article.
Looks like theres a lot to watch out for! I'm excited for the toss up states, and to see how they turn out.
ReplyDeleteI hope this election can be a change for the better in the nation. Hopefully the results favor us in a positive way.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! A very exciting and sort of terrifying midterm election! As Democrats and Republicans are at each others throats, I hope the people I support are elected, but most importantly, I hope many people have gone out to vote!
